What does supporting our mission team do?

Our in-country Mission Team staff play a vital role in mentoring, training, and equipping Cambodian youth and local leaders. They bring valuable expertise, guidance, and hands-on support to our programs, ensuring that our initiatives remain effective, sustainable, and impactful.

By supporting our Mission Team, you help provide for their living expenses, training efforts, team development, and mission-related needs, allowing them to fully dedicate themselves to serving Cambodia’s next generation. Their work is not about leading—it’s about empowering local leaders to step into their full potential and create lasting change in their own communities.

Your support ensures that these dedicated individuals have the resources they need to mentor, train, and walk alongside Khmer staff and youth, multiplying the impact of our mission for years to come.

About Nathan

Nathan Sweeny’s journey to Cambodia wasn’t planned—it was God-orchestrated. What began as a simple visit to reconnect with a childhood friend in 2018 became the spark that reshaped his entire life. With each return trip, the beauty of Cambodia’s people and culture became clearer—but so did the struggles they faced. The lack of opportunity, the cycles of poverty, and the weight of the past stirred something in his heart that he couldn’t ignore. By May 2022, after years of prayer and reflection, that stirring became a calling, and Majesty International was born.

Over the following years, through hundreds of conversations, extensive research, the wisdom of mentors, and consistent prayer, a clear mission took shape—a nonprofit dedicated to equipping Cambodian youth with the skills, training, and faith-based mentorship to break free from economic insecurity and build sustainable, self-sufficient futures.

Nathan’s background in business, construction, technology, and entrepreneurship has uniquely positioned him to lead Majesty International with both wisdom and experience. After studying at Indiana Wesleyan University, he built and managed multiple businesses, ranging from real estate and construction to firearm manufacturing and electrical contracting. He also managed multi-million dollar assets in advanced audio, visual, and theatrical technology, working with Sound Lighting and Media at Indiana Wesleyan, Sinewave Audio, Neoti, and Sensory Technologies. Through these experiences, he gained expertise in UI development, worship sociology, and creating impactful content and user experiences. Additionally, his training in adventure leadership at Indiana Wesleyan led to certifications as a Single Pitch Instructor, White Water Rafting Instructor, SCUBA Instructor, and Wilderness First Responder, later becoming an EMT.

Through success and failure, Nathan learned the value of resilience, leadership, strategic planning, and faith-driven decision-making. However, he eventually realized that while everything he was building was for a greater purpose, the focus had shifted to what he was doing rather than who he was doing it for. The stress and burnout were signs of a deeper truth—God wasn’t calling him to keep building businesses; He was calling him to leave them behind and follow Him fully.

By late 2024 and early 2025, the final confirmation came. His businesses were either sold, closed, or handed off, and the moment he had prayed about for years was now undeniable. He had once planned to move to Cambodia part-time by 2030, thinking that was the realistic goal. But God had a different plan—not to delay, but to accelerate the calling. It became clear that it was time to step fully into Kingdom work in Cambodia.

Now, as the Director of Mission and Strategy for Majesty International, Nathan is fully committed to building something that lasts beyond himself. His mission is clear—to train, disciple, and empower Cambodian youth, equipping them to transform their own communities. He is stepping forward in faith, trusting that God will provide the people, the resources, and the impact needed to bring real, lasting change.

Nathan’s passion is rooted in teaching others about what he loves, improving systems where the impact is visible, and solving complex problems. He is driven by the belief that God calls us to the unrealistic extremes and that self-efficacy and personal development are crucial in transforming lives.

Would you consider supporting Nathan as he follows this call? Your prayers and financial partnership will allow him to continue this work, ensuring that young Cambodians have the opportunities, skills, and faith foundation they need to thrive.

4) "Seek Discomfort" - Yes Theory

Nathan's Favorite Question

In a very deep, thoughtful, and in a way that should be considered: "Why are you here?"

Nathan's Favorite Passage

I pray that from His glorious, unlimited resources He will empower you with inner strength through his Spirit. Then Christ will make His home in your hearts as you trust in Him. Your roots will grow down into God’s love and keep you strong. And may you have the power to understand, as all God’s people should, how wide, how long, how high, and how deep His love is. May you experience the love of Christ, though it is too great to understand fully. Then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God.

Now all glory to God, who is able, through His mighty power at work within us, to accomplish infinitely more than we might ask or think. Glory to Him in the church and in Christ Jesus through all generations forever and ever! Amen.

-Ephesians 3:16-21
